The Cottage

The cottage is two levels, each 1,000 square feet.  It is thoroughly winterized, well insulated and heated, and built to modern standards--the exterior is all finished in a lovely rustic cedar.  In addition, there is a large, 12' by 24' screened porch (visible at right).  Although there's lots of space, we eat most of our meals on the screened porch--looking out into nature.  The lot has 250+ feet of private shoreline.  The slope of the lake bottom is very gradual, so we built a 100 foot long dock out into the water--plenty of room for lounging in the sun.  The cottage has a 14' by 52' deck on the front.

The upstairs is all open living space--dining room, living room, huge, modern kitchen, and a bathroom.  The cathedral ceiling adds to the feeling of spaciousness.  The bedrooms (and the main bathroom) are all located on the ground floor, making them cool for a relaxing nap on hot days.

Most of the front part of the property is flat and grassy--a great place for all sorts of outdoor games, lots of sun, and an easy walk to the water.
